Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane suffers from
a complex dilemma imposed by the new laws that
will be implemented in the La Liga matches,
due to the spread of the Corona pandemic crisis.
According to the Spanish newspaper “Marca”, the most difficult
part of the French coach’s mission will focus in the coming
period, on the possibility of giving up only two players,
and keeping them out of the squad, after FIFA allowed 5
substitutions per game, and 12 on the bench.
The newspaper pointed out that Zizo’s decisions regarding
the remaining matches at the age of the league will be of great
importance, especially that the “League” wheel will return
to rotation after a 3-month hiatus, in addition to 5 weeks
of intensive training.
Currently Zidane has 26 players on his first team roster,
including goalkeeper Diego Altop.
With Serbian Luka Jovic absent due to injury, this total amounts
to 25 players, which means that only two players are absent
from the squad and reserve the whole match.
Zidane will not bear any risks and therefore will include all
three goalkeepers to the squad, and perhaps this carries bad
news for the Colombian star James Rodriguez and the rising
Spanish Ibrahim Diaz, the two players most likely to move away
from the squad because of their poor relationship with their
coach, and the presence of a large number of midfielders
The attackers.
However, although 5 substitutions from a 12-man reserve bench
are allowed, there will still be 7 who will not participate in the
match, in addition to two players who will naturally be excluded
from the squad.
Until Zidane solves that dilemma “7 + 2” (seven on the bench
will not participate, and 2 are outside the list from the ground
up) some players in the midfield and offensive will have to
accept the fact that they will not participate always or perhaps
permanently, and these players are: Eden Hazard,
Marco Asensio, Vinicius Jr., Rodrigo Goss, Lucas Vasquez,
Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema.
