Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool coach, announced the absence of captain Jordan Henderson three weeks,
due to a back thigh muscle injury, he suffered during the Atletico Madrid match (zero -1) in the Champions League last Tuesday.
The German coach said that the prominent midfielder will miss the “Reds” match against West Ham United,
which is threatened with relegation, next Monday.
“It is not a serious injury, but I expect his absence for three weeks,
which is bad,” added the former Prussia Dortmund coach at a news conference.
The defeat of Liverpool in the first leg of the Champions League last sixteen was the third loss for the team this season in all competitions,
and the first he has rallied since the defeat of a young squad against Aston Villa in the League Cup in December.
On the fall against Atletico Madrid,
Klopp said: “It was a strange match.
We lost the confrontation and did not get out of it with positive things
but it is important until the team feels the bitterness of defeat after the match,
and the next day it seeks to restore the tone of victories and the feeling of winning.”
