Sun Heung-min, the Spurs striker, will spend time away
from the team once he returns from South Korea, where
he underwent surgery, as a precaution related to the
outbreak of the new Corona virus.
Last week in Seoul, Sun underwent surgery after
breaking his arm and will return to England “very soon,”
Tottenham coach said Friday.
“He will have to follow some safety regulations,” added
the Portuguese coach.
The latest statistics released by the South Korean health
authorities regarding the emerging coronavirus showed
that 2337 people were infected and 16 others died as a
result of the rapid outbreak.
Mourinho added that he hopes Sun will return to the
team “in some matches” by the end of this season.
This comes as the World Health Organization, on Friday,
raised the level of risk of the spread of the Corona virus
in the world to “very high”.
“We have now raised our assessment of the seriousness
of proliferation and the seriousness of the consequences
of Covid-19 to a very high level in the world,” WHO
Director General Tedros Adhanom Giberisos told
reporters.
Giberis said that the continuous increase in the number
of new cases and affected countries “is certainly a cause
for concern.”
