TheReal Madrid goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois,
was not good enough, but the Belgian has regained
his brilliance this season.
According to the Spanish newspaper “Marca”, the
27-year-old goalkeeper scored well compared to
the rest of the Liga clubs, such as Jan Oblak,
Atletico Madrid goalkeeper, and Marc-Andre Ter
Stegen, Barcelona keeper.
Last season, Courtois scored 48 goals in 35 games,
but since coach Zinedine Zidane put an end to the
controversy, which has been ongoing over the
Royal Guard’s first guard, and his preference over
Kellor Navas, Tipu’s performance has changed
significantly.
During the current season, Courtois handled 76.6
percent of the shots, compared to 75 percent for
Opelac.
The Belgian international stopped a dam in front of
72 percent of the shots carried out inside the
penalty area, compared to 67.5 percent for the
Slovenian guard and 54.5 percent for the German
guard.
This season, none of the opponent’s teams has
managed to shake Courtois out of the box.
The Belgian is currently competing for the Zamora
Award, which is awarded every season to the
goalkeeper who received the fewest goals in the
“League”.
