By scoring the equalizer for his team against
Bournemouth, the Egyptian star and Liverpool player
Mohamed Salah succeeded, on Saturday, in achieving
his own unique record in the English Premier League
soccer tournament.
With his goal scored in the 25th minute of the match,
Salah became the only player in the Premier League to
score goals in all matches Liverpool fought against
Bournemouth, raising the number of goals to 8.
The match ended with Liverpool defeating Bournemouth
2-0, 25 points away from Manchester City, which meets
its neighbor Manchester United on Sunday, and it
needed 3 wins in the last nine games in order to be
crowned a hero regardless of City’s results.
The Egyptian star has scored one or more goals in each
of his six matches against Bournemouth, among which
he scored a hat-trick in one of the matches.
Before scoring the equalizer in the first games of the 29th
week of the Premier League, Salah was partnering with
the Burnley striker, New Zealander Chris Wood, who
scored 6 goals in 5 games against West Ham United.
But with this goal, at Anfield Stadium in Liverpool,
Mohamed Salah became the first player in the history of
the Premier League to score every time he plays against
the same opponent in 6 games.
Salah also equaled the former Dutch star Robin van
Persie by scoring successive goals against one team by
scoring 8 goals.
However, Van Persie scored his eight goals against Stoke
City with two different teams, Arsenal and Manchester
United, so he does not fall into the same category with
Salah.
