Informed sources revealed that Huawei reduced its sales
forecast due to the US embargo, and the company
expects sales of smart phones to drop by 20% this year,
a sharp decline that the company is not accustomed to.
The main reason for the decline is that the US ban on the
company prevented important American companies like
Google from cooperating with it and including its
services in its smartphones.
Huawei had sales of smart phones last year, about 240
million phones, but it expects this year to sell only 190
million phones.
Although Huawei launched some of its flagship phones,
such as the P30 Pro and others, containing Google
services before the ban came into effect.
The company is expected to unveil the new version of
the P40 Pro on March 26.
It seems that the US embargo will achieve one of its
goals, which is to restrict Huawei’s growth, by reducing
its sales, as the United States finds a company that aims
to spy for China.
It will also reduce the contribution of American
technology companies to achieving China’s espionage
and threatening US national security goals, it claims.
It is worth noting that Huawei still enjoys strong sales
around the world, including in China and other countries,
and despite the US embargo, it competes with big
players such as Apple and Samsung.
