Arsenal said on Wednesday that their players will be
prevented from leaving their homes for 14 days, as they
contact Olympiacos club president Evangelos Marinakis,
who has diagnosed with the emerging coronavirus.
The London club issued a statement saying that “its
players and employees are not among them with
someone who infected with the emerging virus that is
terrorizing the world,” according to the Spanish
newspaper AS.
“But under government directives, the players will
remain confined to their homes for 14 days, because they
interacted with Marinakis on February 27th when
Arsenal eliminated by Olympiacos from the
European Championship,” the statement added.
The medical stone imposed by the London club on its
players will postpone the Arsenal and Manchester City
match scheduled for Wednesday, and not known
what will happen in the next matches.
The whole sport and the football world in particular were
affected by the repercussions of the Corona virus, the
most prominent of which was the holding of the
Champions League matches for the first time without
mass attendance, in addition to canceling dozens of
sports competitions in various sports.
