On the sidelines of the emerging Corona Virus crisis,
mystery has wrapped the fate of most of the world
championships, including the Premier League which tens
of millions of followers.
But English football authorities say there are no “quick
answers” to a question: When can play resume after the
outbreak of the Coronavirus?
The English Premier League and Football Association
said in a joint statement on Wednesday that there will be
no play “except when it is safe”.
The statement stated that clubs and their fans have a role
to play in the meantime “in supporting the government’s
directives and ensuring the community’s strength and
solidarity.”
The latest update, issued by the football authorities, said,
“There will be no games until April 30 at the earliest.”
The federations did not clearly answer the dates of the
return of the game, in order to continue the prevailing
mystery about the fate of the football season.
It is noteworthy that the English Premier League has
stopped with 9 rounds left until the end, while Liverpool
need to achieve only two victories to secure the league
title absent in 30 years.
