Real Madrid .. “back door” to cut costs due to Corona

Real Madrid .. “back door” to cut costs due to Corona

Real Madrid did not have to follow in the footsteps of its

rivals Barcelona and Atletico Madrid in reducing the

salaries of players due to the crisis of the Corona virus,

but he is nevertheless considering taking a

rationalization step before the start of next season, by

getting rid of some of his players.

The Royal Club had announced earlier that it would not

reduce wages as major clubs in Europe did, considering

that it currently pays the equivalent of 284 million euros

per season to 37 players, which represents

approximately 52 percent of its annual budget.

But the newspaper “AS” close to the walls of the club

stated that Real Madrid seeks to reduce its spending by

deducting about 75 million Euros from it, by selling

some of its stars whose coach Zinedine Zidane does not

want to be present at the start of next season.

On top of these players is the Welsh star Gareth Bale,

who receives 29 million euros annually, despite his

declining role in the French coach’s plans.

By the same token, the “Merengue” will seek to sell his

Colombian star James Rodriguez, as well as his striker

Mariano Diaz, who refused to leave, knowing that he

currently receives 8 million euros annually, although he

only played 65 minutes.

There is also the Spanish player, Ibrahim Diaz, who got 7

million euros for only 170 minutes this year.

Combining what was previously mentioned, and with

what other players like Alvaro Udriozola, Danny

Sibayos and Jesus Vallejo receive, the Royal Club is

able to save 75 million euros, with other players who

have proven their efficiency with low wages, such as

Ashraf Hakimi currently loaned to Borussia Dortmund,

Germany, and Norwegian Martin Odegaard who plays

Spanish club Real Sociedad is on loan too.

Real Madrid’s move comes in light of the suspension of

the Spanish League and Champions League, and the

amendment of broadcast and sponsorship contracts

recently.
