The Association of Football Clubs in England, reached
a “settlement agreement” with the Federation of
Professional Players in the country, allowing the
postponement of 25 percent of their salaries for April,
due to the repercussions of the Corona pandemic.
Professional football competitions in England have been
suspended since March 13 due to the pandemic,
and many clubs, other than players, have been granted
compulsory licenses.
The Association of Professionals called earlier for the
players to be flexible and bear some of the financial
burdens caused by the global health crisis that led to the
injury of nearly two million people around the world,
and claimed the lives of more than 119 thousand.
“In order to solve the most urgent salary problem,
the Association of Clubs recommends members to
have discussions with players about the month of April
salaries only,” the association said in a statement today.
“An agreement has been reached between the Premier
League and the Players Association regarding clubs that
have entered into negotiations with their players, with 25
percent of the April salary being postponed,” she added.
The association oversees 3 degrees lower than the
English Premier League, and has said that players who
earn less than 2,500 pounds ($ 3,147) per month,
will receive their full salary.
