Former England soccer star David Beckham did not
hesitate to choose the best player in the world from his
point of view.
Beckham said in statements carried by the Spanish
newspaper “Marca” that the Argentine star Lionel
Messi, the Barcelona striker, is an exceptional player
and unique of its kind.
He continued: “Even Cristiano Ronaldo has not reached
his level, but this does not prevent that the two are the
best in the world, and in another classification,
he is far from the rest of the players.”
He added: “It is amazing that a pair like Messi and
Ronaldo exist in one time period, they have many
similarities, but in my view Messi is undoubtedly the
best in the world.”
While Beckham was not able to face Ronaldo in the
green rectangle, he expressed his happiness that he
played against Messi in 2013, when Paris Saint Germain
face Barcelona in the Champions League.
Beckham said, who was a player in the ranks of Paris
Saint-Germain, “We were leading in the result, and when
Messi entered the record for his team.”
And he added: “Despite my age at the time, I enjoyed
playing, and we did well in the two games, and we did
not lose against them.”
It should be noted that Beckham played for Manchester
United and Real Madrid, two clubs that also played for
Cristiano Ronaldo.
