After the decision to end the current season of the Dutch
league, which was suspended due to the repercussions of
the crisis of the new Coronavirus, the relationship
between Ajax Amsterdam and its Moroccan star Hakim
Ziash, who had previously signed for Chelsea, has
already ended.
Ziyash said he was “happy” because of his future with the
English team had been determined before the ambiguity
surrounding the game’s future now, due to the pandemic
“COVID 19”.
Last February, the Netherlands-born international
midfielder signed a 5-year contract with the London
club, starting next season.
“Of course, this clarity is reassuring, because of no one
knows what will happen in the transfer period,” Ziyash
told the Dutch daily Alginmine Dagblad.
But he was never worried that his circumstances might
change after football stopped in England last month.
He added: “In fact, I do not doubt for a second. On the
first of next July, I will become a player in Chelsea.
I have not thought of anything else.”
The Ziyach season ended when the Dutch League was
canceled, after the Dutch government extended the ban
on major public events, including sports, on Tuesday.
The Dutch Football Association said Friday evening that
the Ziash team will not win the title despite being on the
top of the table when the competition stopped last month.
“Of course I would have liked to have won the title on
the field, but if you had to choose one team to win the
title, it would be Ajax for me,” the Arab star explained.
The 27-year-old will leave Ajax after 4 years,
during which he has become one of the team’s icons.
