In comments similar to his controversial personality,
Tottenham Hotspur coach Jose Moreno said that
the best player of all time is not Lionel Messi or
his fellow Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo.
The debate about the best player in the world has often
been confined between the “flea” and the “Madeira
missile”, especially since they have controlled for
more than a decade the big individual prizes.
However, “Special One” believes that there is another
player who deserves to be better than touching football,
as he said in recent newspaper statements: “In my
opinion, Ronaldo is the best player in the world in
terms of talent and capabilities.”
The newspaper “Marca” quoted Mourinho as saying:
“Cristiano and Messi have been at the summit for 15
years with a long and successful brilliance, but if we
talk about the player who possesses the huge talent and
amazing potential, no player can outperform Ronaldo.”
He continued: “When Ronaldo was playing for
Barcelona under the supervision of English coach Bobby
Robson, I realized that he was the greatest player I have
ever seen.”
“The injuries killed his career,” Mourinho said. “It could
have been more impressive, but the talent he possessed
and appeared when he was nineteen years old was
a wonderful thing.”
