In a new step towards lifting the closure and restoring
normalcy, a draft agreement revealed that Germany
is about to allow the resumption of German Bundesliga
matches.
According to an agreement between German Chancellor
Angela Merkel and various states, AFP has obtained
a copy of it, Germany intends to allow the resumption
of the Football League, which halted the mid-
March due to the outbreak of the new Coronavirus.
The draft agreement indicates that the resumption of
the league championships in Germany will be this May.
The draft stated that the holding of first and second
division matches would be ” to reduce the economic
damages” for the thirty-six clubs, which is an
“acceptable” idea from a specific date in May,
according to France Press.
Expected that the date for the resumption of
the matches will decide during a meeting via
telephone technology later between Merkel and
the heads of the 16 German states, according
to this document.
It is worth noting that it was not clear from the draft
whether the matches would play without an
audience and behind closed doors
