The Italian football team Torino has confirmed that one
of its players infected with the new virus, Corona,
without name, in the first round of tests as part
of the club’s plan to return to training.
The club said in a statement that a player whose name
not revealed diagnosed with the virus during
the tests conducted on the players and the technical staff
with the return of the local league teams to individual
training this week.
“The player, who currently has no symptoms, was
immediately placed in quarantine and will be constantly
monitored,” the statement added.
Torino was one of the clubs that expressed concern about
returning to competition while Italy is facing a battle
with the epidemic that has killed nearly 30,000 people
in the country.
The club’s president, Urbano Cairo, admitted this week
that there were “mixed opinions” despite the official
announcement that all twenty league teams supported
the plan to complete the season suspended since the tenth
of March.
His neighbor, Juventus, was the first club in Italy to
announce the injury of a player in its ranks with “Covid-
19”, the defender Daniele Rogani, on the night of 11-12
March. Less than a week later, he announced the
registration of a second case belonging to French
midfielder Blaise Matuidi.
The club confirmed mid-April, the two players
recovered, as announced today, the star of his Argentine
international midfield, Paulo Dybala.
