The German newspaper “Bild” struck a resounding surprise,
on Thursday, by announcing the transfer of German
international star Timo Werner to Chelsea.
Bild said that Werner’s move to Chelsea will take place,
and that the player will receive a huge salary of 10 million euros
annually, with a contract that extends to 2025.
The news from Germany comes as a shock to Liverpool fans,
who had hoped that her team would sign a contract with Werner,
especially after news of coach Juergen Klopp contacted Werner
last month.
Werner, 24, is a Red Bull Leipzig star among the most
prominent young German talents, and he chased by a large
number of clubs around the world.
The club wishing to contract it can cancel its contract with less
than 60 million euros, provided that signed with him before
mid-June, where the price will raise a lot, according to
a clause in his contract.
Chelsea entered the bargain in recent days, after Liverpool was
the main candidate to sign for the German star.
And if the deal is formalized, Werner is the second big deal
for Chelsea this summer, after the contract with Moroccan
Hakim Ziyash, coming from Ajax Amsterdam.
