Bayern Munich turned their backs behind with a 4-2 victory at
Bayerlafrucken, Saturday, and are steadily continuing their run to
the German Bundesliga title 4 rounds before the end.
The Bavarian team is close to winning its eighth title in a league, but
17-year-old Florian Vertes of Leverkusen grabbed the spotlight when he
became the youngest player to score in the league.
Lucas Alaryo rocked the net 10 minutes later as Leverkusen, who played
the match without the injured Kay Haverets, used his first chance in
the match.
But Bayern recovered from the sudden start and Kingsley Koman put
the ball in the goal to equalize from a single position in the 28th minute,
before the visitors scored two goals in 3 minutes to turn the game
in his favor.
Leon Goritska completed a great attack in the 42nd minute, then Serge
Janabry put the ball over goalkeeper Okash Hraditsky at the end of
the first half.
Robert Lewandowski, top scorer in the championship, turned Thomas
Muller’s decisive 20th pass this season with a header into the goal.
Lewandowski raised his score to 30 goals in the league, but he is still
10 goals behind the record set by Gerd Muller in the 1971-72 season.
This is Bayern’s ninth consecutive victory in the league, but there was
a glimpse of happiness for Leverkusen despite the painful blow of his
career towards qualifying for the Champions League.
The German junior team Wertz put his name in history books with
a stunning goal in the 89th minute, goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, to become
the youngest of the 17-year-old and 34-day-old.
Bayern are ten points ahead of Borussia Dortmund, who hosts Hertha
Berlin later in the day.
Razen Palshort Leipzig came third with 60 points, after conceding in
stoppage time to settle for a 1-1 draw at bottom club Paderborn, and
Leverkusen remained in fifth place with 56 points.
