Liga champions Kiki Siten has not decided whether
striker Luis Suarez is ready to return to his squad’s
starting lineup when he hosts Leganes on Tuesday.
Sittin pushed a million Messi, Antoine Griezmann and
Martin Braithwaite, joined last February, to win 4-0
at Real Mallorca last Saturday while Suarez, returning
from injury, participated as a half-hour substitute
in the second half.
Suarez, who scored 11 league goals this season, was
scheduled to miss most of the season’s matches after
undergoing knee surgery in January before the season
was interrupted in March due to the Corona virus
pandemic.
“I have not yet decided whether Suarez will start
tomorrow’s game. We have to be very careful.
It is normal for muscle injuries after a long absence
to be injured,” Seitan told reporters at a virtual news
conference today.
He added: “Griezmann has played most of the season.
Really there are many players now and everyone must
participate. Griezmann will continue to play a leadership
role. He is an important player.”
And he added: “Except in very specific cases, I do not
consider the players essential or substitutes. I want
everyone to participate. Any player can sit on the bench
at the beginning of any match.”
Seiten said that the rotation policy will be an important
factor as the many games will overburden the players.
“The idea is to make changes and there will be changes
as the games continue. We will see the impact of fatigue
on the players. My mission is to try to make the players
in the best condition at the end of the season without
the performance being affected by the many games.”
Barcelona lead the competition, two points behind Real
Madrid, ten rounds before the end. Sittin said that there
is no room for error in the struggle to win the title.
