Jose Luis Palomino scored a header ten minutes before the end,
completing a spectacular uprising for Atlanta, who turned two
points late to a 3-2 victory over Lazio, Wednesday.
Atalanta dealt a great blow to Lazio’s hopes of competing for
the Italian league title, which he has been absent since 2000.
Lazio progressed with a goal scored by Martin de Ron by
mistake in his goal after five minutes from the start,
and midfielder Sergey Milinkovic-Savic added the second goal,
thanks to a perfect shot that made it 2-0.
Robin Gusens reduced the difference for Atlanta with a strong
header before the break, then Ruslan Malinowski tied with a
shot from outside the region.
Palomino’s goal came with a header after a corner kick by
Alejandro Gomez, bringing Atlanta to fourth place with
54 points from 27 games.
Lazio remained in second place with 62 points, four points
behind leaders Juventus and champions in the last eight seasons.
