Kevin de Bruyne scored a penalty kick, Rahim Sterling added
a great goal for defending champions Manchester City 2-0 at
Newcastle United, reaching the FA Cup semi-final on Sunday.
Manchester City dominated the first half, but the only goal came
from a penalty kick carried out by de Bruyne after an error
against teammate Gabriel Jesus in the 37th minute.
Newcastle improved after the break and substitute Dwight Gayle
missed an easy tie.
A minute later, Sterling fired a superb shot from outside the area
to ensure City qualified for Arsenal in the semi-finals.
All the quarter-finals were played without fans, and all
confrontations ended with the loss of the hosts in an event
that occurred for the first time since 1987.
In the other semi-final, Manchester United will play Chelsea.
