Spanish media revealed the news of “unhappy” Real Madrid
players, in light of the financial crisis experienced by most
clubs after the contests stopped 3 months due to the outbreak
of the Corona virus.
The Spanish newspaper “Marca”, which is close to Real Madrid,
reported that the players will not receive any financial rewards
this year, even if they win the Spanish champions and the
European Champions League.
The move comes at a time when the Royal Club, like the rest of
the Spanish clubs, suffers from financial losses that have so far
exceeded 40 million euros, due to the suspension of the league
matches due to the spread of Corona virus.
The Real Madrid Club had confirmed in a statement early April,
reducing the salaries of players, the technical team and
administrative staff, by rates ranging from 10 to 20 percent,
while continuing to study the conditions that may affect
the league.
Last March, Real Madrid players agreed to reduce their wages
over the remainder of this season, in order to help the club,
overcome the financial crisis it is going through.
It should be noted that each Real Madrid player received
a reward of one million euros after winning the Spanish League
and Champions Cup in 2017.
Some estimates indicate that the Spanish club may reach losses
of about 160 million euros by the end of this year, especially
in light of the absence of fans from the stands in the stadiums
so far.
