The Premier League champion, Liverpool, stumbled on his court
for the first time this season, squandering his chance to achieve
a historical record.
Liverpool tied 1-1 at home to Burnley in the 35th Premier
League competition, the first time that Liverpool have failed
to win at home in the league this season.
Liverpool was chasing a historical record not achieved before,
which is the victory in all matches at home, but the goal of
Jay Rodriguez on Saturday thwarted this attempt.
Liverpool had to win their last two league appearances at home,
against Burnley and Chelsea, to achieve the “hard number.”
Liverpool raised its score to 93, and will have to win in the last
three games, to break the record number of points achieved
in one season.
Defender Andy Robertson scored first for Liverpool in
the 34th minute, before striker Jay Rodriguez equalized in
the 69th minute.
