Brazilian striker Neymar da Silva awarded Paris Saint-Germain
his 13th title in the French Football Cup by scoring the only goal
of the match against Saint-Etienne 1-0 in the final at Saint-
Denis on the outskirts of the French capital, Friday, which is
the first official match in France since Last March 10, following
the suspension of spherical activity due to the outbreak of
the new Corona virus.
Neymar’s goal came in the 13th minute when he used a rebound
from the goalkeeper to follow it on the net.
Saint Germain will play the League Cup final, next Saturday,
against Lyon before participating in the Champions League next
month, where he will meet in the quarter-finals with Atalanta Italian.
However, the capital team lost the efforts of its attacker, Killian
Mbappe, who sustained an ankle injury after a violent
intervention by St. Etienne captain, Luick Piran, and the referee
dismissed him after reviewing the shot with the video-assisted
technique “Mouse” in the 25th minute, to complete the match
with ten players.
Piran burst into tears after his dismissal, as it was the last match
in his football career after 17 years in the Saint-Etienne shirt,
so that his end would be the style of his compatriot Zinedine
Zidane, and he deposited the football fields with a red card.
In spite of the numerical deficiency in the ranks of Saint-
Etienne, who was running his first final in the Cup since he lost
to PSG in particular on penalties in 1982, the latter was unable
to add any goal.
The domestic league activity in France stopped on the tenth of
March before the game authorities announced in late April
the cancellation of the season and the crowning of Paris Saint-
Germain as a champion.
