Despite being the team’s top scorer, Egyptian star Mohamed
Salah failed to get any votes during the vote for the Premier
League’s best player award, whose results were revealed on Friday.
Jordan Henderson was named England’s Player of the Year in
2020, based on a vote by the Sports Writers Association.
With the results of the votes revealed, it was surprisingly clear
that the Egyptian star did not get any votes from the Sports
Writers Association.
While the book excluded Salah, 5 of his colleagues obtained
votes, including the English Jordan Henderson and Trent
Alexander Arnold, the Brazilian Alison, the Senegalese Sadio
Mane and the Dutchman Vergil Van Dyck.
Fifteen league players got votes, including Wolverhampton
player Adama Traore and Southampton’s top scorer Danny Ings.
Salah is fourth in the league’s top scorer, with 19 goals, he is
Liverpool’s top scorer this season, but his level has decreased
compared to his first two seasons in Liverpool.
It is noteworthy that Salah won the award with a landslide vote,
in 2018, after he scored 32 goals in the league, and starred in his
first season with the “Reds”.
