Liverpool goalkeeper Alison Becker is afraid to return to his
native Brazil during the downtime of the season, after the
Premier League champion urged him to avoid that trip because
of the pandemic of the emerging Corona Virus virus.
“They (of course) recommended (Liverpool) to avoid Brazil,
as the country is at the height of the pandemic,” Alison said on
Saturday. “I will not go anyway, even with their green lights,
because that will be dangerous for my family. So we will wait
for things to improve before visiting family and friends.”
The Brazilian international was speaking in an interview before
the Premier League concluded on Sunday, after Liverpool
crowned the league title for the first time in 30 years.
Alison praised the coach of the team, Jurgen Klopp, in
revolutionizing the club, and praised the skills of team captain
Jordan Henderson, and spoke about how to avoid being affected
by mistakes, after the recent mistakes made by the Premier League goalkeepers.
Since joining Liverpool in the summer of 2018, Alison has
managed to win many victories, as he helped the English team
win the Premier League after a long absence, as well as
winning the European Champions League and Club World Cup in 2019.
Alison said, “When I signed up with Liverpool, I had a greater
obsession with winning the Champions League than any local
league. But, since I first arrived at the club, I realized the
importance of the Premier League to us … winning it was also
a great desire of our fans. The waiting has hurt them.
So my own obsession has ended this wait. “
