A “touching” message from Liverpool coach Juergen Klopp
prompted the captain to cry in a TV interview, after the latter
was crowned England’s Player of the Year award.
Days after the Premier League crowning, Liverpool captain
Jordan Henderson was named England’s best player in 2020,
based on a vote by the Sports Writers Association, on Friday.
During a televised interview after the coronation, a video was
shown to the Liverpool captain, including a “touching” message
from his coach Jurgen Klopp, which teared his eyes.
Klopp appeared in the video saying to Henderson: “Who would
have thought that a young man came from Sunderland to
Liverpool with big dreams, will one day be the best player
in the Premier League?”
He added: “I know that I am so confident that you dream big
dreams, and now is the moment when everyone sees you as a
great player with a wonderful personality.”
Klopp went on to compliment the leader of the “Reds” in
the video, and congratulated him on the great personal
achievement, which affected Henderson a lot, as it appeared
in the video.
Henderson, 30, played a pivotal role in Liverpool’s success
under the leadership of his German coach Juergen Klopp
through his leadership role and his unending efforts in the midfield.
