Years after his departure from the English Premier League and
his Chinese counterpart, the Brazilian player Oscar confirmed
his willingness to defend the colors of the Chinese team if
the FIFA changed its laws.
Oscar moved from Chelsea to Shanghai in January 2017 for 60
million euros (a record in Asia), knowing that he defended for
the last time the colors of the Brazilian national team in 2015,
after playing in 48 international matches.
According to the laws currently adopted, Oscar, 28, cannot
represent another country, because he has played with Brazil
official tournaments, including the 2014 World Cup hosted by
his country.
“I can think of it. Yes, especially since it is difficult to play for
the Brazil national team at the moment because of my presence
here (China),” the Brazilian player said in an interview with
“CGTN” reported by “France Press”.
Oscar was answering a question regarding the possibility of
being ready to play in the Chinese team in the event of changing
FIFA laws.
“But everyone in China knows how good I can play, and in
the end if the Chinese team needs a good midfielder, I think I
can help in this,” Oscar added.
The Chinese authorities had sexed some players in an attempt to
enhance their chances of reaching the World Cup finals in 2022,
the first of them being the Brazilian striker Elkison, 31, who is
now known as any Kissin, and he played in the national team
4 times and scored 3 goals.
