It seems that Lionel Messi’s anger after the humiliating defeat
Barcelona suffered at the hands of Bayern Munich, Friday,
made him ignore the rules of sportsmanship known after football matches.
And the Catalan team received 8 goals from its Bavarian
counterpart, leaving Barcelona out of the Champions League
and ending its season without any titles, for the first time in years.
After the end of the historic match, Bayern defender Alfonso
Davis asked for a Messi shirt, but the latter refused.
Davis, the rising 19-year-old player at rocket speed, spoke to
the sports network “BT Sport”, in the wake of his team’s victory
over French Olympique Lyon, on Wednesday, 3-0 and
qualifying for the Champions League final.
I asked him for the shirt, but I think he was angry, said the up-
and-coming Canadian star. “But no problem. Maybe next time.”
Bayern hit a date with Paris Saint-Germain, France, on Sunday,
in the final of the tournament, whose last roles were held briefly
in Portugal, after stopping for months due to the spread of
the Corona virus in Europe.
Davis added, “I feel in good shape. Everyone is happy and
playing well. Happy to reach the final. Saint-Germain is a good
team. Now we are celebrating a little and focusing on the next match.”
Bayern Munich’s left back added: “It will be a good match and it
will see goals. This is what you dream of as a footballer: to play
with the better team against the better team.”
