Etienne Eto’o, son of African soccer legend Samuel Eto’o,
has decided to start a new journey with Spanish football,
according to sports press reports.
And Etienne, 18, is about to move to Real Oviedo, who is
participating in the Spanish second division, in a free transfer
deal expected within days.
Eto’o Jr. began his career as a player at an early age with Real
Mallorca, the team that witnessed the emergence of his father’s
star before moving from him to Barcelona, where he wrote an
unforgettable memory in the League or the Champions League.
Last July, Etienne’s contract with Atlético Balearic expired and
he became available free of charge on the summer transfer market.
Etienne, the top striker like his father, will join Oviedo’s reserve
team next week, before moving to the first team, according to
El Mundo Deportivo.
Real Oviedo hopes that the deal will help him reach the first
division season after next, after he finished the last season in 15th place.
Etienne will join another African star in Oviedo, Ghana’s
Samuel Aubing, who the team relies on a lot, alongside
promising Spanish player Jorge Mayer.
