Britain’s Racing Point team announced, on Thursday, that
the German driver Sebastian Vettel has won the four-time
Formula 1 world championship, starting next season.
Racing Point, who will switch to Aston Martin starting next
year, said that the signing of Sebastian Vettel was “a clear
indication of the team’s ambition to become among the most
serious competitors.”
Vettel, 33, won four titles in a row between 2010-2013, with
Red Bull before moving to Ferrari, but the latter preferred not
to renew the contract between them.
The German driver carried the colors of the “Red Bull” team
since 2015 when he replaced Fernando Alonso, but he was
unable to give him the world title, as he did four times with
his former Red Bull team.
Vettel won 53 world championships, including 14 with Ferrari.
