Manchester United suffered a surprise defeat in the opening
matches of the Premier League at the hands of Crystal Palace,
on Saturday evening.
And the “Red Devils” lost in the opening matches of the Premier
League, 1-3, at home to Old Trafford, in front of the stubborn
Crystal Palace team.
For Crystal Palace, Andros Townsend (D7) and Wilfred Zaha
(D 74 and 85), scored for Manchester United, newcomer Donnie
Van de Beek in the 80th minute.
The video technology (mouse) sparked controversy during the
Crystal Palace penalty kick that “wronged” the landowner,
according to analysts.
The referee considered a penalty kick due to Swedish defender
Victor Lindelof touching the ball with the hand, although the
touch was not intended, and the shot came from close range of
the hand, but the mouse technique did not cancel the decision
despite its incorrectness.
And then the referee decided to re-take the penalty kick, after
Palace striker Andre Ayew lost it, due to the (mouse) technique,
which indicated the progress of goalkeeper De Gea from his goal.
After returning the kick, Wilfried Zaha converted it for a second
goal, which helped Crystal Palace snatch the three match points.
