AC Milan announced the readiness of its veteran striker Zlatan
Ibrahimovic to face rivals Inter Milan in the Serie A summit
match, on Saturday, after he recovered from infection with
the Coronavirus.
The participation of the 39-year-old “Ibra”, even for a few
minutes in the match will give a great morale boost to Milan,
who won his first three league matches this season without
conceding a goal, and he has not lost in 19 games in all competitions.
“Zlatan has regained his smile and is in a good state of mind,”
Milan coach Stefano Pioli said. “He’s been training for only a
week, but he feels fine.” He is ready to play but his condition
must be evaluated to determine the number of minutes he will
play in the match.
The Swedish player contracted Covid-19 on September 25 and
has not shown any symptoms.
Ibrahimovi has scored 14 goals in 22 matches since his return to
Milan for a second stint in January to help change the team’s fortunes.
