After the Egyptian star, Mohamed Salah caused a state of
anxiety among Liverpool fans, after a video clip spread on
social networking sites while he was walking with difficulty due
to an injury, he suffered during the Maitland Dane match in the
Champions League.
“Salah is not injured. He will undergo more tests. He is fine. It
was just a bruise, don’t worry,” Liverpool’s official spokesman
Matt McCann revealed.
“Fel Ghoul” website quoted a source close to the club as saying:
“I don’t think it was a big injury or anything. He looked painful
but he was fine and there was nothing about a major injury or
something like that.”
Salah participated as a substitute in the second half and was
subjected to very strong interference from Maitland defender
Paulinho and he also scored a goal from the penalty spot after
interference from the same player.
After the end of the match, Salah appeared in a clip-on British
television, according to the British newspaper, “Al Meror,” as he
was walking with difficulty and anger towards the dressing room.
Klopp did not mention Salah’s problem with the injury he
suffered, but he spoke about Fabinho’s injury during the same match.
Klopp said: “Fabinho lost in the first half. Williams is only 19
years old and I think he played more Champions League
matches than the Premier League, and this is rare.”
He explained, “This is exactly the last thing we want. I know
that he feels hamstring pain and this seems not good. He said
that he can play without running quickly, which did not help.
We will see after conducting other checks.”
It is noteworthy that Liverpool won 2-0 against Maitland in the
second round of the group stage of the Champions League, and
is preparing to face West Ham United, Saturday, in the seventh
round of the English Premier League.
