Press reports in Italy and Portugal revealed that the examination
of the Corona virus, which Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo
underwent, is still positive, on the eve of the match between
Juventus and Barcelona in the European Champions League.
There has been no official statement confirming the Portuguese
star’s absence so far, from the upcoming confrontation against
his Argentine rival, Lionel Messi.
And the Portuguese radio station “TVE” said that Ronaldo
“underwent a test to detect Covid 19, which came back positive again.”
She indicated that the striker is currently waiting for another
examination by the European Union for the game (UEFA),
and if his result is positive, he will therefore miss the match
against Barcelona.
It was announced that Ronaldo had been infected with the new
Corona virus two weeks ago, during his stay with his country,
and had been subject to quarantine since his return to Italy.
According to the radio, Ronaldo came out positive during the 18
tests he underwent to detect the Corona virus.
On the other hand, “Sky Sport” and the Italian newspaper
“Gazeta Dello Sport” confirmed that Ronaldo had tested
positive, and that he would miss the match against Barcelona.
Ronaldo missed 3 matches for his team, including against
Dynamo Kyiv, Ukraine, at the start of his Champions League
campaign, in which Juventus won two clean goals last week.
