German Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool coach, defended the star of his
Egyptian team, Mohamed Salah, after the player was criticized
for his penalty kick against West Ham United.
Salah was subjected to many criticisms, as some find that he
claimed representation inside the penalty area, in order to
deceive the referees and obtain a penalty kick.
The German coach responded at the conference on the Atlanta
confrontation, saying, “I have nothing to say, it was largely
against everyone who saw it.”
He added, “Believe it or not, I spoke with Mohamed Salah on
Sunday morning, and asked him about his condition, and he
me that he suffered three blows in the match, one of which was
in the penalty area, but he did not fall.”
He continued, “We do not talk much about penalty kicks that we
did not get after two days, but some people still talk about a
penalty we got, even though the match was on Saturday.”
Liverpool defeated West Ham United (2-1) in the match that
brought them together, last Saturday, as part of the seventh
round of the Premier League.
Salah scored the equalizer in that match after he fell as a result
of the interference of Musako, the Hammers’ defender, and got
a penalty kick.
Liverpool raised its score after this victory to 16 points and was
at the top of the “Premier League” solo, followed by Tottenham
and Everton.
