Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp denied that the race for the
Premier League title was limited to the Reds and Manchester City.
Klopp told Sky Sports that the competition for the championship
title is open to all teams this season.
The German coach added, “Yes, the competition was always
between more than two teams. Last year the competition for the
title was up to a certain point between at least three teams.
There is nothing guaranteed. I don’t see that we are one of the
two teams. I see that we are a team that has to do a lot.
In order to achieve success. ”
And Klopp added, “If we look at the situation in the past two
years, it was wonderful for the two teams, but this does not
mean that we guarantee that this will happen again in the
current year. Everyone has an opportunity,” according to “Reuters”.
City and Liverpool have dominated the title in the last three
years, and Klopp’s team won the title last season, 18 points
ahead of their direct pursuit of City, and it seems that the two
teams will compete again for the title this season.
Liverpool share the top of the league, trailing Southampton on goal
difference, and will have a chance to stand alone in the lead
when they face 12th-placed City, later on, Sunday.
