Argentine Gonzalo Higuaín, the former Argentina national team
striker, surprised fans of his compatriot Lionel Messi and Portuguese
Cristiano Ronaldo by excluding them from the list of the three
best players for the Inter Miami star.
Higuain said that the best three players in the world currently for
him are the Bayern Munich striker, the German Robert Lewandowski,
the young Norwegian Erling Haaland the Borussia Dortmund
striker, and the Frenchman Karima Benzema, the Real Madrid striker.
Spanish newspaper AS quoted Higuain as saying, “Lewandowski,
he played, scored and won. Haaland promised a great future.
He surprised me, he is a great striker.”
It was not surprising that Lewandowski admired Higuain as the
“unofficial” winner of the 2020 Ballon d’Or, but the same does
not apply to Karim Benzema, who has scored only 6 goals in
11 games this season.
And unlike Cristiano Ronaldo, who had never crossed Gonzalez’s mind,
Lionel Messi had some of his countrymen’s praise, saying,
“(Messi) is magical. Everything is original. He was born this
way, in his DNA, he does everything effortlessly. The things
that must be done. Everyone has to fight for it, Leo does it
naturally and that is what makes it unique. ”
Higuain has previously defended the colors of Real Madrid and
Napoli, while the Argentine scored 66 goals for the Italian
champion in 149 games he played with him in all competitions.
