Messi surprised his colleagues and Barcelona fans, on Sunday,
with his celebration of the late Argentine legend Diego Maradona,
during the 4-0 victory over Osasuna, on Sunday.
After scoring the fourth goal, Messi took off the Barcelona shirt
to reveal the Argentine Newell’s Old Boys shirt underneath, and
he had the number 10 on it, which is the shirt that Maradona
wore when he represented the Argentine club.
Messi raised his hands to the sky and seemed impressed, after
the wonderful goal, which came after dribbling by two players
and a powerful shot from outside the penalty area.
Messi chose the Newell’s Old Boys shirt because it is the childhood
team that Messi represented when he was young before moving
to Barcelona, and it is also the shirt that Maradona wore in the
1993-1994 season.
Maradona did not participate with Newell’s only 5 games, before
concluding his career with Argentine football giant Boca Juniors.
The Argentine legend had died a few days ago, at the age of 60,
leaving a great football legacy for the world, leaving an unprecedented
state of sadness in sports circles in particular.
