Juventus striker Cristiano Ronaldo scored the 750th goal of his career
in the 3-0 win over Dynamo Kyiv on Wednesday, while Stephanie Frappart
became the first woman to manage a Champions League match.
Federico Chiesa scored his first-ever goal in the Champions League and
Alvaro Morata scored while Ronaldo scored another, but the goal came
when the ball hit his foot.
The 35-year-old Ronaldo scored 450 goals with Real Madrid, 118 with
Manchester United and 102 with Portugal, compared to 75 goals with
Juventus and only five goals with his first team, Sporting Lisbon.
With Juventus securing qualification in Group G and the exit of Dynamo Kyiv,
the focus was on Frappart, but the French woman did not appear much in a good
sign of any referee.
Frappart, who led her first Ligue 1 match in April 2019, was declared yellow card
three times and ignored the Ukrainian team’s demands for a penalty kick after
Leonardo Bonucci interfered with Benjamin Verbich.
Juventus, second in the group with 12 points, was three points behind Barcelona,
in the 21st minute when Chiesa diverted Alex Sandro’s cross pass with a header into the goal.
This is Chiesa’s first goal and comes more than 20 years after his father Enrico Keyes’
last goal for Fiorentina against Bordeaux.
Ronaldo hit the post in the first half, but scored in the 57th minute, scoring his 10th
goal in eight games this season.
Chiesa sent a low cross pass, which goalkeeper Georgi Buschchman removed,
to bounce from Morata and collide with Ronaldo into the net. The referee
calculated the goal after reviewing the video assistant referee.
Chiesa contributed to Morata’s third goal in the 66th minute.
