Atletico Madrid continued their winning streak, winning 2-0 at Real Valladolid
thanks to goals from Thomas Lemar and Marcos Llorente, to lead the Spanish Premier League.
French midfielder Lemar scored his first goal since April 2019 to open the scoring
in the 56th minute after meeting a cross from Kieran Trippier after a quick counterattack.
Llorente clinched the victory after another pass from Trippier and overcame a defender
quickly and forcefully, then scored in the 72nd minute.
Atletico won its seventh successive victory, bringing its total to 26 points from ten games,
two points behind Real Sociedad, who played 11 games.
In the next round, Atletico will be hosted by rivals Real Madrid, the titleholder.
