Egyptian striker Mohamed Salah saved his team, Liverpool, from suffering an “embarrassing” defeat,
at the hands of Fulham, on Sunday evening, in the English Premier League.
Fulham led the league leaders Liverpool, with a wonderful first-half goal, scored by Bobby Reid in
the 25th minute before Salah equalized with a penalty kick in the 79th minute.
Fulham goalkeeper Alphonse Areola almost blocked Salah’s kick, but the ball escaped his hands to enter
the net and snatched a valuable point for Liverpool, who appeared dull during the match.
Liverpool held a tie at the top of the league, level on points with Tottenham Hotspur, who drew with
the same score earlier.
It is noteworthy that Liverpool suffered one defeat in the league so far, at the hands of Aston Villa,
with a broad score of 2-7.
Tottenham scored a difficult 1-1 draw at home at Crystal Palace, with a goal scored by Harry Kane,
before Geoffrey Shlob equaled for Palas.
Liverpool will meet Tottenham at the top of the league and the “disengagement” battle, next Sunday.
