Real Madrid, La Liga champions, announced, on Saturday, that its young striker Rodrigo will be absent
from the stadiums “for some time” after suffering a hamstring injury, during the royal club’s 2-0 victory
over Granada, Wednesday.
Rodrygo began the match in the starting line-up for the royal team, but suffered a severe injury, which resulted
in crying from the “Alfredo Di Stefano” stadium in the 38th minute of the match.
Real Madrid did not specify the period during which his attacker would be absent, but local media said that
the injury may keep him away for up to “3 months” at least, according to “Reuters”.
This means that the young striker has been absent from a large number of “LaLiga” matches, as well as
the two round of 16 matches in the Champions League against Atalanta.
Real Madrid said in a statement: “Based on the tests that Rodrygo underwent … it was found that he had
a hamstring injury.”
Real Madrid are equal in points with leaders Atletico Madrid, but the defending champions have played
two more games than their neighbors in the capital.
It is noteworthy that Rodrigo Goes, 19, joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2019, coming from Santos,
Brazil, in a deal worth 45 million euros, and participated in 17 games during the current season, in all
tournaments, and scored one goal.
