The famous football star, Lionel Messi, says he does not plan to work in the field of coaching after he retires,
stressing that he prefers to take over the position of the football manager.
The 33-year-old’s contract with his current club Barcelona expires after about 6 months, and the football world
awaits the Argentine player’s decision regarding his future with the club, which has spent 20 years with him so far.
“I do not envision myself as a coach, but perhaps as a sports director, and I sign the players I want or who are
needed by the club I belong to,” Messi said in an interview with the Spanish television network Las Casta on Sunday.
Messi, Barcelona’s historic top scorer, crowned the best player in the world 6 times, made it clear that he would
like to return to Barcelona in the future, regardless of his decision at the end of the current season.
“I would like to return someday and I would like to go back to the city and work with the club and help,
” the veteran striker added. “I haven’t thought about it much, but work will be connected to football because
that’s what I love and what I know.”
“My relationship with the club and the city is a love story. Whatever its end, you should not harm my experience
during this career,” he added.
