Niccolo Barrilla scored another goal and set up to help Inter Milan win the 2-0 win over Juventus and level
with Milan at the top of the Serie A, and also deal a big blow to the defending champion’s hopes.
Former Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal opened the scoring with a header after diverting Barilla’s cross pass
into the net in the 12th minute, scoring his first goal in the competition with Inter.
Coach Antonio Conte’s side doubled the lead when Barilla pushed towards the goal after a long pass from
Alessandro Bastoni and ended the attack with a shot over the net to confirm the victory as Juventus were unable
to threaten Inter with an uprising.
This is Conte’s first victory in four confrontations against the team he represented as a player and coach, bringing
Inter’s balance to 40 points, even with leaders Milan, who visit Cagliari on Monday.
Juventus has a postponed match but is in fifth place with 33 points, amid question marks over the ability of
Andrea Pirlo’s team to win the title for the tenth time in a row.
