Bayern Munich midfielders, Leon Goritzka and Javi Martinez tested positive for the new Coronavirus,
a few days before the start of the Club World Cup.
On Friday, the club announced that both players are “doing well”, but they will miss the team’s next German
league match against Hoffenheim, on Saturday.
German midfielder Goretska has isolated himself at home, while Spain’s international Martinez has already
isolated himself at home “for a few days now”.
It is possible that the two players will miss Bayern Munich’s visit to Hertha Berlin next Friday and the Club World
Cup in Qatar, unless it is proven that their positive virus detection results were wrong, as was the case with their
colleague Serge Gnabry last October.
Bayern also said reserve goalkeeper Alexander Noble will be out for about a month after suffering an ankle
ligament injury on Wednesday.
