Klopp Reveals Evolution on Salah and Van Dijk
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp revealed on Monday the final injury position of Egyptian Mohamed Salah
and Dutchman Virgil van Dijk.
According to Klopp, they hope the pair will be present in Wolves’ final Premier League match,
but the players’ presence in the Champions League final is certain.
“Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk will not be with Liverpool against Southampton” ,
Klopp said in remarks during Southampton’s press conference.
He added: “The two players are in good shape, and our goal is to be with us at the end of the week,
to be available to take part against Wolves in the last round of the Premier League.”
Klopp explained: “Players may be involved as substitutes for a few minutes or only be on the bench.
I don’t know, but they will certainly be available in the Champions League final. ”
He concluded: “Even if they don’t exist against Wolves, we will be positive,
or I am sure more accurately that they will be in the Champions League final.”
Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk had left Liverpool’s game against Chelsea in the FA Cup final injured,
which the Reds decided on penalties to capture their second title of the season after winning the League Cup earlier.
Liverpool face Southampton on Tuesday night in the 37th round of the Premier League,
where they currently sit in the top of the Premier League standings with 86 points,
4 points behind top-flight Manchester City.
Liverpool play Real Madrid on May 28 in the Champions League final in search of the team’s seventh title
historically.
