After his comments about “Judgment and Salah”… Frank Lampard fined
The English Football Association announced, on Tuesday, that the Everton coach, Frank Lampard,
fined 30,000 pounds (about 38,000 dollars), against the background of statements in which he
criticized the referee of the match in which his team lost against Liverpool, in which he mentioned
the name of the Egyptian football star, Mohamed Salah.
Referee Stuart Atwell did not award a penalty after a combined ball against Everton’s Anthony Gordon
at the Merseyside Premier League summit last month.
Lampard said after the 2-0 loss, that the penalty “would awarded if this mistake had been
in the interest of Liverpool star Mohamed Salah.”
Earlier this month, the FA charged Lampard with “improper conduct in attacking the integrity of referees”.
The FA said in a statement that the 43-year-old denied the accusation, but fined “for violating
the FA’s rule in relation to media comments made during a personal hearing”.
Lampard took over at Everton in January, with the team leading four points above the relegation zone in
the Premier League.
Everton guaranteed to remain in the top flight in the penultimate round of the season, and eventually
finished 16th.
