Sony Ships 1.5 Million Units of PSVR2 Device
This year saw the announcement of a PSVR2 device with very strong specifications, which although there is no
specific launch date now that some analysts expected it to be launched early next year if it is not in the holiday
season this time, but what about its sales planned by the company.
One of the leading analysts in the supply and demand chain called Ming-Chi Kuo said that Sony intends to
manufacture approximately 1.5 million units of PSVR2 device to be ready for sale immediately upon launch.
Ming who works at TF International Foundation said he expects to launch the device early next year 2023
depending on the schedule of games that will accompany its launch, according to some sources there will be
approximately 20 distinct titles and different when the accessory launches.
If this analyst happens to be a strong start for Sony and its new VR device, the first PSVR released in 2017
took more than a year to reach 2 million sold copies.
Sony will broadcast a new episode of the State Of Play event on June 2 next year that will be dedicated to
third-party games from its partners and will also review some of the titles under development and coming for
PSVR 2 during the launch period.
There are some titles previously announced, including the third spinoff of the Horizon series called Call Of The
Mountain as it will be entirely a virtual reality experience while there are rumors of a dedicated phase in
this year’s upcoming Modern Warfare 2 game of new PlayStation glasses and other first and third-party games
expected to be reviewed for the first time at the next event.
