Despite his modest performance this season with Manchester United, Cristiano Ronaldo

report by the British newspaper, “Daily Mail”.

According to the British newspaper, Ronaldo is credited with the outstanding performance
of the “Red Devils” on the communication sites, as he has 465 million followers on
“Instagram”, keen to keep them informed of his latest news, especially related to his team.
And the newspaper added, “Out of the 25 most popular publications published by
Premier League clubs last season, 10 were related to Ronaldo, and the top three were
all about (the Madeira missile).”
And the newspaper considered that such results would push United to hold on to Ronaldo,
citing a statement by Sheffield Hallam University sports expert, Rob Wilson, who said:
“His commercial value will affect the club’s decision to let him leave. United were not
bothered by Paul Pogba leaving, but there will be Bigger behind-the-scenes
conversations about the Don.
Wilson explained that “Manchester United did not want to sell Ronaldo because his value
as a commercial entity is higher than his market value as a footballer.”
And the sports business expert added: “DXC’s deal with United to have its name on the sleeves
of the team’s shirt, worth 20 million pounds, is a good example of Ronaldo’s influence,
as it is the largest single sponsorship of shirt sleeves in the history of the Premier League.”
In addition to Wilson’s opinion, it was reported that the current sponsors of United are
pressing to keep Ronaldo, as they have developed marketing plans based on his
continuation with the team.
