The RPG, science fiction and adventure game Elex II is back with
a second part from the development of the German studio Piranha Bytes,
which is famous for developing games with medium or low budgets.
Frankly, I was surprised when the second part of the series was announced,
especially after the average reviews of the first version in 2017, and despite
my admiration for a lot of ideas In the first part, the game did not provide
the integrated experience of it to expect the release of a second part of the game,
but let’s see in our review if the game managed to develop for the better with
its second release.

ELEX II
The story of the game is a direct sequel to the first part, in which you play
as Jax, who works to protect the planet from a great danger approaching.
It is recommended to play the first part or at least follow a summary of
the story before trying the second version of the game, as many events
and characters come from the first part and the game progresses in
This version has five different clans spread across the vast game world.
Each clan has its goals, living conditions, special problems, and its own lifestyle,
in addition to special skills that each clan enjoys. For example, there is a clan
that masters magic and another clan masters guns, technical weapons, etc.,
your main task is to protect the land from a nearby attack, and this task
is divided into dozens of tasks such as working on developing Your defenses,
gather a team of companions, gather alliances with different clans,
and why not join one of these clans, learn their secrets and skills, and get
the exclusive equipment for this clan.
The options in this game are many and varied beyond description.
Some missions have more than four or five ways to finish them.
For example, in one of the missions from the first chapter, I had to eliminate
some wanted men. And because I was busy with a number of other tasks,
I returned to this task in a later chapter, but after that I accepted a task
to recruit some fighters for one of the clans, so automatically you will have
the option when arresting the wanted men if you want to recruit them to
that clan or hand over the wanted as previously required or why not kill
them and take What they have of money or take their money and leave them
to leave and each option will have many consequences in the future and other
stories and overlapping tasks and some tasks in the event that they are completed,
you will automatically cancel other tasks and vice versa. You only get it that way.
Your decisions and choices form the core of this game. Your alliances will have
consequences, and your decisions that you make even in side missions may affect
the events of the story and the interaction of the characters and their support for you.
Unfortunately, the combat system of the game did not match the depth presented
in the story or the options system, as it is a superficial combat system that does not
provide Anything new and characterized by high difficulty, and what increases
the problem here is that the escorts suffer from weak artificial intelligence,
which makes their presence with you on the battlefield without any benefit.
You will find them not fighting with you, not hitting the targets, or dying quickly.
ELEX II has an open world with diverse terrain and environments with different
landmarks for each city belonging to the different clans without the game offering
any impressive graphics in addition to the features of the superficial faces of
the characters of the world, the audio performance in the game was uneven
between the characters with some good enthusiastic melodies in the battles,
while playing we encountered Some technical problems, such as some endless
missions due to a mistake in the game or closing an option to progress in one
of the side missions without explaining the reasons for that, especially with
a complex, unclear and lacking organization list of tasks.
